File Types

Supplying your artwork in the correct file format helps ensure smooth processing and the best possible print quality. This guide explains which file types we accept and what we recommend for trouble-free printing.

Preferred file format

Our preferred file format is a print-ready PDF.

A properly prepared PDF keeps your artwork exactly as intended, preserving layout, fonts, images and colours.

Why PDFs are best
  • Fonts are embedded or outlined
  • Images remain in the correct position
  • Layers are flattened
  • Colours convert reliably to CMYK

Fonts & outlines

All fonts should be converted to outlines or curves before exporting your PDF.

This prevents font substitution or reflow if a font is missing or incompatible during processing.

Layers & transparency

We strongly recommend flattening all layers before exporting.

Unflattened layers or live transparency can behave unpredictably during conversion and printing.

Accepted file types

While PDFs are preferred, our upload system can also accept and convert a wide range of other file types.

  • PDF (print-ready)
  • Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx)
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx)
  • Microsoft Publisher
  • JPEG / JPG
  • PNG
  • Photoshop (PSD)

Important note about conversions

When supplying non-PDF files, our system will automatically convert them into a printable format.

During conversion, elements such as fonts, spacing, line breaks and colours may change slightly.

Always check your on-screen proof carefully before approving.

Image-only files

Image files such as JPG or PNG must be supplied at the correct size and resolution.

Enlarging small images will reduce quality and may result in pixelation when printed.

For best results, images should be at least 300 DPI at final print size.
