How to supply your artwork

When you place an order with Cheapestprintonline.co.uk, you no longer need to be a professional graphic designer or understand complex “print-ready” terminology. Our file preview software allows you to upload almost any file type and see exactly how your artwork will print.

Getting started with artwork

Whether you’re completely new to print design or just want to double-check you’re doing things correctly, the steps below will help you avoid errors or delays in production.

How to set up artwork for print

  1. Open a new document using your preferred software or online design tool (e.g. Canva).
  2. Create your document at the correct finished size and add guides for a safe area if possible.
  3. Add your text, images and colours to bring your design to life.
  4. Save or export your artwork as a PDF to keep everything in place.

Different ways to create your artwork

Design online
Online design tools are widely available. We recommend Canva for simple, browser-based artwork creation.

Adobe Creative Suite
Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are professional tools offering powerful features for print design.

CorelDRAW
A popular alternative offering both bitmap and vector design tools.

Microsoft Word, Publisher or PowerPoint
A simpler option with fewer features but an easy-to-use interface.

You can design artwork using almost any software, provided you export a high-quality, print-ready PDF.

Top tips for supplying artwork

Adding bleed
You do not need to add bleed manually as our upload system can apply this automatically.

Printing colours
Screens use RGB (light), while printers use CMYK (ink). Colours may appear slightly different in print — our preview shows how it will look.

Fonts and layers
Exporting to PDF embeds fonts and flattens layers, preventing unwanted movement.

Resolution
Use images at a minimum of 300 DPI for sharp print quality.

The obvious stuff
Always double-check spelling, names, prices and dates — we don’t proofread content.

Uploading your artwork

After placing your order, you’ll be taken to our file upload page. Upload your artwork, preview it on screen and approve it for print.

You can resize, rotate or crop your artwork directly in the browser. Colours are automatically converted to CMYK so your design is print-ready.

Once you approve your proof, your file enters our automated production workflow and no further changes can be made.
